California Boxing & MMA is a Sacramento, family-friendly, Christian based combat-sports gym led by owner and head coach Gilbert Zaragoza, a Sacramento native and professional boxer with more than 40 years of boxing experience as both an amateur and professional fighter.

Zaragoza brings old-school boxing knowledge, fight-tested coaching, and professional training influences from respected names in boxing, including Lou Duva, Tommy Brooks, Don Conley, Will Edgington, and Floyd Mayweather Sr. Zaragoza was selected to compete on Oscar De La Hoya’s reality boxing series The Next Great Champ, where he advanced as one of the show’s standout competitors.

California Boxing & MMA builds on that experience by offering practical, disciplined training for kids, adults, beginners, amateurs, professionals, and anyone looking to improve fitness, confidence, and self-defense skills. The gym offers classes in boxing, MMA, striking, kickboxing, self-defense, and strength and conditioning, with a family-friendly environment that welcomes all ages and fitness levels.
